‘what would Harry do?

Holy Cow, I've similar items in the store.

Abraxan replied:

Similar to "What would Harry do?" -- you must work in a Christian book store with "WWJD" jewelry, huh? :-> That's actually not where I got the idea, but once I wrote it, I recognized the similarity. :-)

"...land of the phoenixes..."
Yet another world class idea.

"...I was just happy today."
"And now you’re not," Snape said sharply."
Yet another world class line and so Snape like.

Abraxan replied:

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I really liked the land of the phoenixes! And the Snape line you quoted - TOTALLY Snape! heehee. It made me laugh when I thought of it. Glad you liked it!

YAY!

You were right, the epilogue was well worth it!

Abraxan replied:

And there's one more part to it! I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far!! Thanks for writing!

"...bottom of a jar of newt eyes, one pair of eyes was aware, and following his movements avidly."

I know how Harry feels. It's like that around here everyday at 4:10 when I feed the cats and dog.

I appreciate your replies, but they are not necessary. I'm reading a wonderful story and don't often know what to say, other than, "This is a wonderful story." I imagine it is tough to follow that.

Abraxan replied:

Hey, it's my pleasure to thank you for taking the time to write me a note about your feelings about my story! So thanks for writing! And I know what you mean about feeding the cats and dog - I have the same thing here, as well as horses and goats who all think I should feed them whenever I come out of the house in the direction of the barn. And since I do give them cookies (animal treats), I suppose they're right!! heehee. My animals aren't spoiled or anything. . . . Glad you're enjoying the story!

I knew it! Molly's a whacko!

In fanfiction Arthur is a nice guy, Moony is a nice guy, and Molly is a wacko, pretty much always. Ha.

Abraxan replied:

Nah, she's not a wacko, just a mother having a mid-life crisis. . .

Each chapter is a complete story on its own. At least they seem that long. I love it!

"He squeezed the squirt top twice, dispensing two large sprays of some green liquid into Harry’s throat."

I was in a strange school in the 60s. I swear the nurse on had one remedy that she used for every thing. She'd spray about 10 squirts of that green stuff down us, and then follow it with a shot glass of honey. It worked to a degree. No one would come in with anything less than plague, and none of those sissy plagues. We were men, well man light!

I am so enthralled with your long chapters. I read to escape and you allow me to do it Each one covers so many new plots and idea.

Abraxan replied:

Thanks a lot! Your nurse story is a hoot! She gave you ten sqirts of green stuff -- sounds like Chloroseptic to me. GREAT stuff, if pretty darned yucky, but it does make your throat stop hurting! "Man light" huh? LOL! Glad you're enjoying my story!

That was a spiffy idea about Grandad the frog.

I'm enjoying your story a great deal, but I don't know what to say anymore.

THanks a lot!

That was great, Now, if you'll just make Hermione subservient we'll all be happy.

I'm kidding! sheesh

LOL, like THAT would ever happen! heehee. Glad you're enjoying the fic!

I knew you wouldn't throw Hermione to the wolves too much. It's going to take some piece of writing to bring Ron around though.

One more chapter. I'll tell them I had a flat tire, ran out of gas, my dog died...

Abraxan replied:

ROTFL - you're making yourself late to an appointment to read "one more chapter" of my fic?? LOL! Glad you're enjoying it!

"WARNING: Something truly horrible happens..."

You were right about that. Just reading it affected me greatly.

I've read part of this on fan fic I think. Your site here is so much nicer. It's clean and easy to read with nice big print.

Your story is wonderful and your writing superb. From the dialog to grammar, you're professional all the way.

Gees, I'm still unsettled.

Abraxan replied:

Thanks a lot for a really nice review - sorry you're still unsettled, though! Glad you like this new site. The "look" of it is thanks to the site's creator, Tim Joy ("Jeconais") - he's done a nice job here, hasn't he?

Thanks for writing!

Just interesting that in the live chat I talked about a very simular idea. It is interesting that two people who have not met would come up with a similar idea. I have no doubt that it was your idea but you did almost the same thing with it that I was thinking of, it even had the same tone. Excelent job.

Abraxan replied:

LOL! Well, it happens all the time in the world of fanfiction - we're all dealing with the same characters and universe, so there are bound to be some similarities between stories. I "grew" JKR's characters and world in a direction I thought she might go, and I was quite delighted with how many things I got RIGHT when I read HBP. ;-> I've had other readers say they've read this idea or that one of mine in various stories, but I can honestly say I've read very little fanfic (I've joined several groups, but haven't read the fics - no time, too busy writing, LOL! I plan to read them after I'm finished with Destiny, when I need a break from my novel.) So anyway, my ideas aren't taken from fanfic, but from JKR's writings and my own imagination. Glad you liked what I did with the story!

Oh how cute!!! I'm glad they're getting along with the Dursleys now...and I'll have you know that from the very beginning (when I was the only one in my school who'd even heard of Harry Potter and was smugly telling my friends that come-my-eleventh-birthday I'd be receiving an owl inviting me to Hogwarts) I staunchly believed (and still believe) that it's all true and that J.K. Rowling was actually Hermione making lots of money off of her actual adventures. Except, in my theory, part of the reason behind her publishing the stories was so anybody who tried to claim there was a wizarding world would be passed off as crazy people who are delusional and obsessed with some crazy-popular children's story.

Abraxan replied:

ROTFL! Yeah, I can see you doing that, LOL! Glad you liked it! Thanks for a fun review!

YAY!!! Have been ill for the past THREE DAYS!!! Missed two days and five hours of school. (Refused to miss first two hours of day one because I had a MAJOR test over "Pride and Prejudice, but that's beside the point) This is the first day I've been out of bed and it is a HUGE pick-me-up to read this awesome story. So, "Yay" again. OH! And I'm a little behind on my side-story for you, but it's all mapped out so it shouldn't be long. Toodles!

Abraxan replied:

Sorry you've been sick! I wondered where your reviews were! Glad you're better! And I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter!

Looking forward to reading your "side-story"!

Of course, but when I bitched and moaned about how you always insist to put Harry (or others) into the hospital, you used realism as a main argument, saying life is that way. You just turn it around the way you need it, don't you?
Sheesh!!! (j/k)

> What's wrong with middle names? Most
> Americans have them, and many Brits have
> several!

I guess I'm just living in a weird country, or family. Or both. I've encountered people with middle names, too, but those were the clear minority. And there's nothing wrong with honoring Dumbledore that way, since they do like him. I guess the fact that it is a recurring HP fanfiction cliché irked me a bit.

> And why would you have to REMIND yourself I'm
> writing Dumbledore as a good guy? I've never
> given him a hint of darkness!

Sheesh, calm down, will ya? I was talking about the fact that I read so many fics in which Dumbledore was a manipulative bastard that it's hard to keep track of. And it still weirds me out to see him called 'Grandfather'. But those are my flaws, not yours or those of your story! No need to see that as arrogance. And I'm sorry for putting to much emphasis on your recurring foibles that I neglected the large portions of your story that are perfect or pretty darn close.

Quizer

Abraxan replied:

As for your bitching and moaning, your doing that at ME ticks me off, and elicits impatient (at best) responses from me. I don't have that much time in my life to answer reviews, but I FAITHFULLY answer each and every one (except the ones that are merely "UPDATE!" which annoy me because I DO update faithfully every week. *sigh*) It's not NICE to annoy the author and waste her time with your bitching and moaning. Take it elsewhere, I'm serious.

If you have legitimate questions or comments, fine. Ask them and I'll answer the best I can, but you have to realize nobody *paid* me to write this and I'm not wasting my precious time researching a lot of stuff for a fic that I'm writing for FUN. I researched what I felt needed it, and for the rest I went on my life knowledge (which is extensive), and that's good enough for 99.99998% of my readers. I've made this FANTASY story as realistic as possible because I wanted to, but you can't hold fantasy to the same standard as realistic stuff -- sometimes you just have to go on faith because it's FANTASY, not realism. It's what came out of my very fertile imagination. If you don't like it, that's your choice. You don't have to read it.

I don't care how many other fics you read - you're taking out your annoyance with OTHER fics (manipulative DD, which I would NEVER write) on *me* annoys me and wastes my time , which annoys me even more.

And yes, you DID neglect the "large portions of [my] story that are perfect or pretty darned close." A GOOD critique or review includes both good and bad - you don't seem to have learned that lesson, or don't remember it unless I yell at you. You prefer to focus on the negative and to be extremely pushy and rude about it, which also annoys me. And I'm REALLY tired of being annoyed. . . .

I'm glad Destiny is nearly all online so I won't have to spend so much time explaining things you should just "accept" or "believe" in (it IS fantasy, after all).

I know I sound testy - my time is limited lately and I'm not getting enough time to write or do my art, and very little to ride my horse, and that makes Abraxan a bit cranky. So-called "reviews" like you left make me even crankier, especially since I feel honor-bound to answer every review that's more than just "UPDATE!" It's not nice to make Abraxan cranky. Stop doing it.

Abraxan, feeling extremely cranky right now

Hi! I don't think I reviewed last chapter Please forgive me! :)
This chapter was so great! I love that they all have a bunch of children, it's so fun! I'm so happy there is going to be a part 2 for the epilogue. I can't get enough of this. Makes me sad that it's going to be over soon. I can just guess how you are feeling!Must be hard to finish a story. I get really sad when I finish a book so I guess it must be a bit hard. I think it was good that harry got to talk with Petunia and all.. Ties up all the loose ends! Anyway! Great great great! that's all I can say!
I'm of to read A very Harry Christmas since i've not read that one before! Yay another story to read!
Monika

Abraxan replied:

All is forgiven, LOL! Glad you liked this part of the epilogue! Yes, I thought it would be interesting for Petunia to run into Harry as an adult and see what a fine man he'd become despite his years with them.

Yes, I'm sad in a way to be finishing these fics, but in a way, it's really cool, because it's such an accomplishment! And I'm having fun with my original novel too (when I have time to work on it!!)

Enjoy the Christmas story, and be sure to review it! Thanks for writing!

*grins* So that's the reason you're selling the London shirts to us Muggles as well!
Again, great chapter, but I hate epilogues. They mean the end of the story, which is bad when it's a good one like this. Especially if there's no planned sequel. (I'm still hoping for an unplanned one or an other fanfic, despite everything)

Abraxan replied:

Oh, so Harry can sign them? Yeah, sure! LOL! Sorry you hate epilogues, but I wanted to show Harry having a happy future and show the family that finally fills his heart. And nope, no sequels!! Short stories, maybe. Novels, nope, not unless they're for real publication, which I can't do with Harry and his friends - JKR owns them, I don't. But I own Ethan and Jake (the leads in my original novel) and their story already looks like a series, not just a single book or a trilogy! YAY!
